LIBERATOR MAGAZINE started off as a Twin Cities based community newspaper. Over the years the publication has branched out nation wide and has also transformed itself into a divine cyber version, for all to enjoy. You would do well to read you some and stay connected.

First Look: AMERICAN GANGSTER - “American Gangster” concerns Harlem drug kingpin Frank Lucas (Denzel Washington), who smuggled heroin in the body bags of U.S. soldiers slain in Vietnam. Brolin plays Det. Trupo, a crooked NYPD cop who piggybacks on the Lucas investigation conducted by Det. Ritchie Roberts (Russell Crowe). (source . . .) The cast selection and subject matter makes for an interesting film indeedy.

The Gathering LIVE! If you reside in the Twin Cities you need to be checking for this first its kind (locally), event. October 14th, 2006 an all star female cast will come together in Minneapolis, to take a stand against domestic violence. Styleaholics.com has alot of potential. Najwa Moses (The Hostess) is bubblin’ with eclectic personality . . . I can totally see myself reppin’ in the same mode. You gotta love a chic with personality.

Joy Denalane is my musical heart of hearts right about now. I’m featuring her once again cuz she’s just that dope! I’m bumpin’ her cd from beginning to end - no skips. You can download the album “Born and Raised” on iTunes. The U.S. release of “Born and Raised” isn’t due until November, 2006. I will be purchasing a copy, like fur-sure.

Diddy Does The “Minne”. . .TONITE!

So the illustrious “Diddy” is suppose to be in town tonite . I won’t be in attendence as I have a date with a treadmill and other spritual alignments. But if any of you “locals” are ‘gon be on the scene with a gangsta lean - holla at your girl with the details. Diddy, what a hoot!

If Looks Could Kill . . .

This is what I look like before I have my morning cup of coffee . . . I am not a morning person. The only time you will find me cheesin’ at sunrise is on PAY DAY - and even then the level of morning cheerfulness is based what percentage of my check will be going towards bills.

I LOVE animals. But I think some people go too far, dressing up their pets. Animals are more intelligent than given credit. I am certain they find being dressed in ‘drag’ humiliating. *lol* Just thought I’d share this random info with you . . . The are tons of ‘cutesy’ animal pics over at Cute Overload.com. I like to visit the site when the weight of the world gets me down. Puppies and Bunnies always cheer me up. Happy Friday!

feelin’ this broad (make sure to watch both videos). you know the type: a name droppin’, relatively unknown artist, seeking recognition and attention by attacking the more well established (people that are actually important to the game). she reminds me a shady heffa i know of, who runs around minneapolis thinkin’ she’s the midwest version of “miss info” - telling half-truths and altogether ‘tall tales’, and/ or just poppin’ off at the mouth for no good reason. all that , while playing ‘the role’ like she doesn’t understand why she has so much static with misc. individuals. go figure? sure, she may get some momentary attention, but never the love. and that is why chics like such will never fully prosper.

So I Guess I Won’t Be Invited To The Church Picnic Anytime Soon . . .

Since I first learned of the Pope Benedict XVI/ Islam Controversy over his usage of the quotation . . .

Show me just what Muhammad brought that was new and there you will find things only evil and inhuman, such as his command to spread by the sword the faith he preached.

. . . I have been outraged. Not because I am of Islamic faith, but because the last thing that the Western hemisphere needs at this point in time is a highly ranking representative of the Roman Catholic church spouting off medieval quotes about the so called evilness and inhumanity of Muhammad and his followers. Talk about the definition of a “shit starter”; we should paste a picture of the pope’s wrinkly ass right next to it.

And let’s keep it real – true, he apologized, but we all know that he’s really not that sorry about what he said. If you’ve even remotely followed this guys steez, you already know the deal.

Not surprisingly, in response to the Popes speech, Muslim extremists are declaring war on all “cross bearers” and claiming the war will not cease until all are converted or fall to the sword. And even though I am not a Christian, if the day were to come, I would be treated as such because I live on American soil.

Aren’t we living 2006? When is this “The Empire Strikes Back” shit going to end? Never . . . I suppose.
