A friend of mine sent me a recap of a converstation she had with her ‘little pumpkin’. I am tickled to no end. It reads something like this:
…So ‘The Beans’ woke up the other morning obviously bothered. When I asked her what was wrong she wrinkled up her face and said “I seen something bad in the back of my eyes “…”Scooby Doo was being chased by monsters”…
LOL! —I had to assume the baby had a bad dream and since no one has obviously spoken to her about dreams/nightmares…this was her interpretation!
Thank God for puppies, bunnies and all thing innocent . . .Amen!
Is Anyone Suprised?

“YouTube, MySpace Abuse Copyright . . .”

Universal Music Group, the world’s largest record company, contends the wildly popular Web sites YouTube and MySpace are violating copyright laws by allowing users to post music videos and other content involving Universal artists.
“We believe these new businesses are copyright infringers and owe us tens of millions of dollars,” Universal Music CEO Doug Morris told investors Wednesday at a conference in Pasadena. “How we deal with these companies will be revealed shortly.” ( more. . . )

Kiri Davis, age 16, Urban Academy - ” I wanted to make a film that explored the standards of beauty imposed on today’s black girls. How do these standards affect her self-esteem or self-image. Through making this film I learned a lot about where some of these standards might stem from.”
Please take 7 minutes of your day to watch the following clip. It is worth it. This extends to all people of any ethnicity. WE can influence the youth, person by person, image by image and lyric by lyric. . .

I also suggest you watch the rest of the other short clips. Video #16 was filmed in Minneapolis and addresses military recruiting tactics in high schools. To all of my NORTHSIDE RIDERS, PEEP the Video . . . But um, I don’t want to hear anything about the music snippets at the end. DOH!

Let’s teach our babies well - and put and end to the war against ourselves.

Music is about life, right? Life is about “situations”. Our years on this planet are just one long string of scenarios; each episode folding into the next. So I named the following play list, “Situations”. Not all of the songs are “deep”, but neither are all of life’s situations. Life is just life, ya know?
Situations like . . .
Damn, I’m running late for work so how about I recycle the outfit I wore to the lounge last night. Where’s my Febreeze?
I’d rather drink 3 day old hot dog water than occupy the same the space with this motherfucker. I don’t ever, ever, ever, care to see him/her again. So why do I still think about him/her?
I’m single. I haven’t had sex in months, but I don’t feel like putting on a body condom and/or dealing with any bullshit. I am tired of masturbating and I’ve finished all of my crossword puzzles, feed the cat, walked the dog, drank, smoked, worked out, prepared a 5 course meal, organized my closet, built a fire pit in my back yard and clipped my toenails. What should I do?
I want to stab my children’s father/mother and kick him/her down a flight of steps, but I know it’s illegal. How do I move past these feelings of anger and resentment? The sore feelings are eating me alive.
Why come my mom always favored my sister? Where was my father when I was growing up?
