So, I’ve been falling back on hip-hop events in Minneapolis for the past several months . . . Why? Cuz I’m all hip-hopped out - that’s why. I’ve been cool on the genre in general for awhile now, especially the local shows. So much, that I won’t be going to see the legendary ‘God’, Rakim in concert this weekend. But dangit, when I saw the footage from this show(Slims Birfday Party), I was kinda bummed I didn’t make it. Sure, the sound quality is low and the video is grainy - but damn if you can’t feel the energy in the room. I’m like, “Aw, look at alla my amigos (The Chosen Few) ripping the shit out the mic“. And what about my homeboy ‘Snuggles‘, holding the beat box down? Good stuff, mang. Today is a rainy, cloudy, icky day in Minnesota - but this video gave me warm fuzzies. I got love for my guys:)

Hello darlings. I’ll have you know that I had a fabulous time at my homegirls birthday party this past weekend. She’s a true southern belle with a flair for hosting parties and ‘poppin’ tags’. She looked so saucy I didn’t hardly want to stand next to her. *lol* But the sad part is that she’s leaving Minneapolis and relocating to the Carolinas. I can’t say I blame her, but she is going to be dearly missed. *dabs tears*
HAPPY BIRTHDAY LADY VIRGO!

Wanna see the rest of the fabu photos? Of course you do! I also took the liberty of adding some pics from our good times in 2006. GO THERE . . .

Inbox Humor: I know you ladies can appreciate this one. . .
Nadine’s wedding day was fast approaching. Nothing could dampen her excitement - not even her parents’ nasty divorce. Her mother had found the PERFECT dress to wear and would be the best dressed mother-of-the-bride ever!
A week later, Nadine was horrified to learn that her father’s new young wife had bought the exact same dress! Nadine asked her to exchange it, but she refused. “Absolutely not. I look like a million bucks in this dress, and I’m wearing it.“, she replied.
Nadine told her mother, Dorothy, who graciously said, “Never mind sweetheart. I’ll get another dress. After all, it’s your special day.” A few days later, they went shopping and found another gorgeous dress. When they stopped for lunch, Nadine asked her mother, “Aren’t you going to return the other dress? You really don’t have another occasion where you could wear it.”
Dorothy just smiled and replied, “Of course I do, dear. I’m wearing it to the rehearsal dinner!”
GANGSTA CLASSICS: Throwback Musings of Yours Truly (The Saucy Dame Dizzle)

I’m bringing back the “Gangsta Classics”, ya’ll. Consider it classic Saucy Dame Dizzle commentary from my early blogging days. I had a lot of things to ‘get offa my chest’ a few years back. I’se got on the blogging tip and started ranting for the world. Prior to the “Homeland Security Situation” I had started re-visiting & sharing my ‘funnies’ with you. I’m thinking I will pick up the pieces and get in the ‘throwback’ groove again - starting with this humurous blurb about my fighting days as a ’shorty’. Cuz there were ‘haters’ back then too, and they had to get ‘dealt’ with. These days I’m tired and retired. But don’t trip, I will open up a can of “Whup-Ass”, if you push me.
Enjoy!

You might have already read up on the following headline: ” Mos Def Arrested After Impromptu Performance Outside VMAs - Rapper didn’t have permit to perform on flatbed truck outside Radio City Music Hall. “
What’s really too bad is that our federal government didn’t respond as quickly to Katrina victims as “New Yorks Finest” did to Mos Def and his freedom song.
Here’s some video footage and lyrics to go along with story. . .
