Share My World: The Smiling Barista

Starbucks is one of my “dailys”. The “coffee scene” this particular morning was extremely hectic. The line was so doggone long, they had a server w/ a “head-set” on; taking orders before you even reached the counter. It was ‘thick’ up in there. But I just have to have my little “foo-foo” coffee to make my morning complete.
And then there is the friendly “Barista” guy. . .
He always has a smile for me.
I know when I go there I am going to be smiled upon.
Regardless of if I’m feeling “some kind of way”, or I’m plain faced with a poorly groomed head of hair and my pimples are on “high-beam” (yes, I have those days) – He never waivers in his ability to part his lips & show just the right amount of teeth to let me know I am favored in his presence.

Shiver me timbers! Just when I thought things were getting dull and boring around Saucy Dame Delux – DRAMA sashayed its way into my inbox; just in time to help keep the fire warm and cozy.
Dear World,
Today I received my very first threat of legal action against the SDD . . .
*warm fuzzies* Awww, yet another milestone for the site. Isn’t that special? Because after all, you’re really not relevant in the blogesphere, until someone, for no valid reason, threatens to sue you . Right?
To quote: “Thank you, he said he will have his attourney contact you.”
Really? Well “Snookems”, I hope the attorney is a better speller than you. . .
And I’m going to leave it at that for now. Unless perhaps I find it necessary to elaborate for the sake of self-defense and clarification which will only re-hash so much of what you and your representative wish to bury.
Um, yeah . . .
May I suggest the method of K.I.M (Keeping It Moving)? It is very effective, both financially and time wise.
*shaking head* You know, sometimes people are just lead by the wrong influences. . .
“Now, who could it be? Could it be…SATAN?”

Dear World,
I’m really not feeling the holiday “spirit”. Not because I’m grumpy, but mostly because I think Christmas [or what many of us perceive Christmas to be] is FAKE. I refuse to give gifts based on social guilt and guerilla marketing tactics sponsored by corporate America. I am only buying gifts for my son this year. Everyone else can “kick rocks and agitate the gravel” [Providing it isn’t frozen over]. Nor am I expecting anything. Why would I? It’s not my birthday – It’s Jesus’s birthday? Yes? Well, I am not religious either . . . so Christmas is cancelled from that angle too. I didn’t even bother to put up the tree this year. Sorry.
But I must admit I do hold on to the glow of Holidays past when I was an innocent child [un-aware of corporate America and fake ass Santas]. The memories of yesteryear are what keep me feeling any sort of warm fuzzies for Christmas. I enjoy elaborate family dinners. I love the tiny-tots with their eyes all a glow when they receive a gift they really adore. I love a Charlie Brown Christmas. I love, lovel , love, egg-nog and Brandy. I dig cocoa and carriage rides as much as the next chic. And I even enjoy listening to holiday music [BTW – Check for the “Holiday Soul” RADIO BLOG later tonite] .
But all of that fake, cheery, shop–til-you-drop business is not for the Dame.
So I guess that makes me a love/hater of Christmas, right? Depending on my dispostion at the time, I love or loathe the season. What about you? Do you just loooooove you some Christmas time? Or could you do without it? What do you enjoy most about the Holidays? What do you not enjoy so much? Any family traditions? What has been your favorite Christmas so far?
Talk to me . . .and KEEP IT REAL.
Angelique -
