HOT GHETTO MESS . . . Swagger Jackin’ Real Tough.

Hot Ghetto Mess, really is a hot ghetto mess in MORE WAYS than one . . . the staff is just as IGNORANT as the photos they post up. . .
Why do I say this?

Well, some how one of my ORIGINAL, “Ready for the World” photos ended up on their site. I’m not sure if a reader submitted it . . . or if a staff member (if they even have a staff) “ganked” it from my photo gallery . . .
Whatever the case, I am the rightful owner of the photo. I took the picture with MY CAMERA and I KNOW the person in the photo. But he don’t know he’s on HGM though . . . or at least I aint told him. *lol* We aint tight like that. I don’t see him everyday. . . or even once a year. BUT STILL.
Not only do they have the photo on their site, they had the nerve to WATERMARK the photo. I have sent them emails and also left a message on their voice mail, asking them to remove the photo. I’ve received no response or action (in regards to removal). So I am NOT HAPPY about that. This is why when post photos online, you should ALWAYS watermark your work. Period. And I would’ve . . . and moving forward I WILL.
You see, when I first started adding pics to my gallery, I didn’t think the gallery would be as popular as it is (RULE #1 – Never underestimate yourself or your skills). As the gallery grew . . . I learned that mother fuckers could care less about respecting your hard work and effort. . . especially if you are ‘nice’ with yours. . . so now I tag my photos. But it would be a huge project to go back and mark the older photos. . .which I still my have to do if mess like this continues.
So . . . it is interesting to me that a website, who’s tagline is “We’ve Got To Do Better” and codemns people for being “ghetto” would be just as “ghetto” and not remove my photo, or at least give me credit . . . AFTER they’ve been notified in writing and verbally that they are infringing my copyright. How is that “doing better’? Notice that they watermark all of their photos and have also disabled the “right click” function. . . cuz they don’t appreciate having their photos stolen, either. So why is it okay to do me like that? Perhaps if they were polite enough to RESPOND I would be more enlightened.
If you would like to tell them that it really aint cool to front on the Saucy Dame Dizzle. . .You can hit them up at 202.549.4441 (Leave a messege for Jam Donaldson). I really don’t want to got through the whole legal process over one photo - It’s just the principle and the ignorance of it all. So I will do my best and repeat my mantra. . . and learn from this experience.
Woooooooo Saaaaaaa *exhale*
