Blonde Ambition

Oh Lordy. *shakes head*
This past evening I decided it would be fun to ‘lighten’ my current hair color. Without any thought or consideration as too the fact that I am not a professional colorist; I reached for a highlighting kit that promised to give my hair the ultimate “Caramel Blonde” highlights.
The box read:
“Shimmering strands of light at the stroke of a brush. A multi-facted spectrum of caramel blonde highlights.”
Yay! Bring on the blonde! I can pull it off, right? Certainly.
I couldn’t hardly wait to get home . . . and get my Mary J Blige on.
I got to mixing and applying the pleasant smelling bleach concoction to my hair . . .
Long story short: My shoulders have a basketball sitting on top of it. I don’t see no traces of caramel or blonde . . .just a multi-faceted spectrum of copper & brass with a splashes of high-electric-yellow . . .
A broad looks like a calico cat.
But the good news is that my hair feels softer than ever (surprisingly) and I am damn lucky not to have endured any hair loss. It will also be no problem to adjust my color back to it’s normal state (I’m a guru when it comes to color, just not the ‘bleaching’). So the “look” is very temporary. Plus, I’m a PIMP in my own mind, so the confidence I exude easily smooths out my beauty faux-paux . . .*lol*
Still,
I KNOW BETTER than to mess around with a store bought “highlighting” kit. Been there, done that. So what the hell was I thinking? I should kick my own ass for this here hair “blooper”, but I’m laughing at myself instead.
But guess who has to go to work today? Do I dare show up up happy hour?

Girl, I am over here rolling. As someone who has also had a few mishaps in the hair coloring department this made me chuckle and feel your pain. Right before I met you last year I called myself getting some blonde highlights but as you saw they came out orange red. So no blonde for the kid. The only way my hair will be turning blonde is if I install a lacefront at this point.

But women should stay away from putting chemicles in their hair and go all natural.
I have seen ladies with green, yellow, orange hair trying to look cute but look like a disaster.
My motto: “Maintain the realness” — you never go wrong.
But I understand, women have to look fabolous so their nails, hair and make-up must look proper.
I just think some of y’all just go overboard with all of that highlighting, fake hair, extensions, braids, make-up bullshit.
But keep looking fabolous ladies. But please see a professional hair stylist if you must have orange and purple hair.

Uh . . .I MIGHT post a pic just for poots and giggles . . . but I am definitely correcting this color, like TONITE. I already knew that a $10.00 of hair color was NOT going to do the trick. But somehow, I thought I was so fly, I would make it ‘happen’ — like my skills were just so tight that I could override all of the cons of dime store hair color (highlights of ALL things).
Now I look like a straight up tackhead. *ha ha*
The thugs like it though . . .lot’s of attention this morning.
I guess I’ll never be a blonde . . . or anything close to it. Yet another disappointment in life. *sighs* I would do the wig thing, but somehow I might end up looking like Janice Combs

Ahahahaaa…I’m w/Trent, where’s the picture?! Calico cat ahahaaa, I’m dyin’ over here. Did all the cat calls boost the confidence level this morning? (not that you need a confidence boost) You can pull off anything!
