You Gotta Get Up Get Out and Get Yours!

Hey ya!

Here’s a thought:

Instead of plunking down $25 bucks to read about who’s zoomin’ who in the “Industry” and how much irresponsible sex they’ve had (please, no more tell-all books, ya’ll.) — I’d rather fill my head with something more inspiring and beneficial to my everyday life. Amy DuBois Barnetts’ guideline to the fab life, Get Yours! The Girlfriends Guide to Having Everything You’ve Dreamed of and More is the direction I see myself going in….

Honestly, I’m at a point in my life where getting my mind, body soul…and finances ‘right‘ is hella crucial. Like never before I feel an urgency to get my act together. I’m not saying my life is in shambles. I do alright. I’m just saying that I’m all grown up now and I really want to take things to the next level — career, personal relationships, financial and social status, etc.

My only child has started high school this fall. He is well on his way to independence. In a few short years he will do what independent chil’ren should do, leave! It will be just me, the cat, and my dreams. I’ll be living solo, for real, for real. Certainly I’ll feel a great sense of accomplishment having reared and released a productive member of society into the fold. But then what?

Tick tock…tick tock…

I don’t want to be the 40-ish year old woman still working in a cubicle, plugging other folks fabulous endeavors and writing about my shitty day online. In-every-aspect I desire to live a more fulfilling life. Don’t we all? So how do we make it happen for ourselves? I don’t have the answers. I am seeking enlightenment just like you… but what I do know is that I will be checking for the book… and a few others.
