Remembering One of Minnesota’s Finest…

Big Kong

February 2nd, 2008., Minnesota lost a true O.G. - Big Kong, to a sudden brain aneurysm. So, so, sad. I am always at a loss of words in situations like this. The only comfort I find in this terrible news is the fact that “Kong” no longer has to deal with the stress and strain of this bitter earth.

Dying is easy. It’s living that’s hard. If there is a heaven I have no doubt that he is being fitted with a pair of wings.

What I know about know about “Kong”:

In the summer, he loved to sit on the lake, crack open a brewski and fish until the sun went down.
He loved riding his bike.
He repped his city hard.
He always had a smile for me.
He was big and strong. A mans, man. No question.
The ladies loved him.
The brothers respected him.
He will be deeply missed.

Wishing I could laugh with & take pictures of my guy one…more…time…

  2. Thanks for relaying the message…

I’ll never look at the Country Bar without feeling a tinge of sadness.
    R.I.P indeed.

  5. You ALWAYS looked out for me, and I will never forget you. You will never know how much your selfless acts and kind but REAL words meant to me… I am sorry I didnt keep in better touch with you this last year- lesson learned- NEVER take those you love for granted, they can be gone with the blink of any eye…

  7. Im gonna miss chasing him around the lake, honkin my horn to get a ride on that bike:) The man was just all around amazing. He was always friendly….always cracked me up- he loved to smile and that smile could light up a room it was so big. His hugs don’t compare to anything I’ve ever known. Im 6 feet tall and that man made me feel like a little lady….I loved that:)
This city is gonna miss you Kong! Its a damn shame you had to go so soon. My heart bleeds for your family and I pray that they can find peace with your departure. This has made me realize how precious life is and how one day can change the rest of your life. You are missed by SO many people….and by people who never even knew you that well…you just had that effect. Thank you for the memories…..
