Um, Thanks But No Thanks…

So with all of the hub-bub about us women (because men need not worry about being lard asses, right?) committing to a “fitness revolution“, I decided to take a peek at the theory behind the only FDA approved, over-the-counter fat-blocker, alli.

Alli

How It Works:

“The active ingredient in alli attaches to some of the natural enzymes in the digestive system, preventing them from breaking down about a quarter of the fat you eat. Undigested fat cannot be absorbed and passes through the body naturally. The excess fat is not harmful. In fact, you may recognize it in the toilet as something that looks like the oil on top of a pizza. ”

Because of the way in which alli works, eating meals with too much fat may cause side effects known as treatment effects. Learn more about treatment effects now. . .

* gas with oily spotting
* loose stools
* more frequent stools that may be hard to control

In other words, taking this so called weight reduction help-aid may result in you having “accidents” in your Victorias Secret… at work, church, the grocery store…on the way to your friends birthday party, etc.

I don’t give a damn how thin you become via poppin’ alli tablets and reducing your fat intake…

Oily bowel seepage/fecal incontinence is NEVER a good look.

Period. Point Blank. End of Story.

There is nothing left to say…except one thing:

If you want to live a healthier lifestyle, lose the extra weight and keep the pounds off, THERE ARE NO SHORTCUTS. Eating in moderation and daily exercise is the best way to ensure that your waistline sees a smaller dress size. Tampering with pills, wacky diets and surgery is not the avenue to take.

Besides, if a person can control their fat intake by eating less fat, they don’t need to be hugging a bottle of alli in the first place. Right? So this whole ‘alli program’ is basically a set up to get you spending your hard earned money and soiling your pants. But hey, that’s just my interpretation of the situation.

Is the FDA really to be trusted? Are they really our “alli” when it comes to our health and safety? We all know who’s in bed with pharmaceutical companies…*shakes head*…the standards have declined, people. It’s all about the dollars, not you.

Okay, so I guess there was more to say…but damn, just cut back on the cheeseburgers and get some movement in your life. You’ll see results. Promise.

Thick or thin I’m doing it my way, the common sense, one day at a time way…

  2. Ok, first time admitting this, I’ve done ALLI. If you eat right you won’t have accidents. Basically, if you take the pill and then proceed to have a ton of fatty foods, yeah accidents will occur! I won’t tell you that I lost weight while on it because I didn’t stay on it too long and I didn’t work out. Yeah, smart, NOT! I say try it. If you follow the directions it will work for you! Heck I still have the bottle some where. Maybe I’ll start up again.

    Good Luck.

  3. Yeah, I saw a similar post on the specifics of the side effects. You know there will be plenty of slim ones running to get it [pun intended]. It’s like In-n-Out, no need to ask.

  4. I never trusted the FDA after I looked closely at my chitlins bucket and realized they approved chitlins to be cooked as is, from the store.

  5. Word to herb, I’m on a diet right now. I have to looks slim for my summer vacation in the Caribbean.

    I’ve been eating salads for the past two weeks.

    But I have to be careful because on the weekends, when I’m lounging at the computer, I’m popping cakes and cookies in my mouth.

    Thanks for the warning about this diet drug.
    And you are right — diet and excercise is the best way to go!
