The framed print of Billie Holiday (one of my absolute favorite songbirds), was given to me by the man whom I may possibly grow old with. He is one of my best friends and my favorite Valentine, always. Sincere and thoughtful he is… When my mind and spirit were ailing he brought to the ocean to bath in the sunshine and lick traces of sea-salt from my lips…

The most important person you should ever romance is YOURSELF. Take the time to nurture your soul. Be kind to your heart and spirit. Learn to love YOU first. Everything else will fall into place.

Return from Paradise:
Coming home from a tropical, très chic, climate such as South Beach; to a dreary, rain soaked Minneapolis has been a real drag. Seems like all I want to do is curl up into a snuggly ball and hit the snooze button until the funs begins. I’m not ready to kick off my glittery flip-flops and ditch the swimwear. I prefer petting parrots, hugging palm trees and sipping fruity drinks. After several deep-soaks in the bathtub I still have white sand in my belly button! I’se ready to go back, already! I know Miami wants me to come back too. *wink*

The woman who resides behind the door pictured above is in love with music. What would any home be like without the sound of sweet music filling its nooks and crannies? I couldn’t even imagine. I am a musical person, always have been. I thank the Creator for that, *smile*. Much to the annoyance of my coworkers, I’m always humming a song under my breath. And if I’m not singing a song, I’m thinking about the lyrics in my head.

Billie Holiday, is the embodiment of our delicate human nature. Strikingly honest, brave, yet vulnerable — revered by men and women from all walks of life, she will forever be remembered as jazz legend (and a true lady). Simply put, aint no other like her.
