The Foshay Soiree - A Glamourous Affair

A historical landmark and the second tallest concrete skyscraper, next to the Empire State Building, Minneapolis’ own Foshay Tower re-opens this month as the W Minneapolis hotel.

Art deco architecture, a 27th floor “sky bar”, an observation deck w/ the original telescopes, original marble pillars and terrazzo floors, neon lights, spectacular skyline views and fully wired technology are just a few of the attractive features the new hotel has to offer.
“Swanky” is the word when speaking on the $75 million dollar investment. “Eye Popping”, “Amazing” and “Lavish” are other words being used in reference. I’d like to add “Off-the-chain.” to the list.

The MIA Bollywood Bash - I’ll Be Thurr

“Art and party lovers alike will unite in a swirl of vibrant color this Saturday evening at the Minneapolis Institute of Arts’ Bollywood Bash. This annual summer event is hosted by The Circle, a group which offers the young, hip, and art-interested (ages 21-44) a chance to experience art, meet new people, and connect with the MIA in a whole new way.
While one does not have to be a connoisseur of fine art to attend, you cannot help but miss the beauty of stylish party goers flirting on one of the MIA’s reaching spiral staircases or the well dressed couples sipping complimentary martinis under priceless paintings. While the first hour or two of this party is all about the socializing, soon the beat of the DJ draws the crowd into the main ballroom, where the dance floor pulses and the party really gets started. ”

I’ve created a new category at SAUCYDAMEDELUX.COM. It’s titled “Things I’d Like To Do“. Often I learn of events an activities that peek my curiosity/interest, but end up not attending because I’ve talked myself out of going.
Several reasons for I’ve used in the past for not attending:
A. I’m sure to be the brownest, and most ‘urban‘ person in the room.
B. Damn, it would be nice to have a friend (or a date - but that would be asking for a miracle, right?) to turn to and comment on how great or wack the event is.
C. Sometimes, I just don’t have the dividends to make the fun ‘pop off’, like it should.
Please note: The above reasons have been significantly simplified in order to reduce writing and reading time. Just know that each one could easily hold it’s weight in a lengthy blog post.
