Aside from the tomfoolery that took place in downtown St.Paul yesterday, over yonder, the family friendly, peace loving “Take Back Labor Day Festival” rocked Harriet Island Park. My girl C.Rimstad aka C-Rocka put her ‘credentials’ to use and captured the moment. I didn’t make it to the festivities, but from the looks of the photos and what I’ve heard, the festival was pretty darn cool. Actually, it was described as being “Off the chain!”
From top to bottom: A purple SEIU Welcome, Slug and Ant of ATMOSPHERE, Fatlip (Pharcyde) and Muja Messiah, Mos Def

Peace and love, people.
Peace and loooove.

Rewind to yesterday…

With the Republicans in town and all, not surprisingly, there are a few people who want to express how they feel about the government/Bush administration by way of rallying/protesting. I’m all for freedom of speech. I totally ‘get it’. But one thing I’ve never understood is why people destroy their OWN neighborhood for the sake of demonstrating their anger against the ‘man’. Ultimately you are only hurting yourself and the community for which you seek justice and equality. Busting out department store windows is so frickin’ lame .
Yet I digress — what’s even more retarded is traveling cross-country to bust out department store windows in a city in which you do not reside. Those damn hippies from San Francisco are to blame! *ha ha* No matter how you dice it, tearing up public property is for ‘wanksters’. And who ends up having to pay for repairs? You, Me, US!, with our tax dollars, bitches. There is a better way to protest. ‘Anarchy’ is so not the move — especially when it’s pussified anarchy. What? A few busted windows, a little bit of tear gas, some rubber bullets and it’s a wrap for the day? That aint gully. My advice is to leave those bricks in your back-pack and rock the vote. Ya dig?
LMAO
I knew the elephants were coming, but I didn’t know they were bringing a three-ring circus with them.
Side note: I would like LOVE to have one of those government issued pepper spray canisters. I wouldn’t be nothing nice with one of those…and you KNOW THIS.
Now, check out this awesome slide-show from the Minneapolis Star Tribune.
